SVI Graphics - Diamond Grade Panels

Dear Future Customer,

As of January 1, 2009 the NFPA 1901 document requires all new fire apparatus to have at least 50% of the rear of the truck covered with 6” red/yellow alternating stripes in a chevron (inverted V) pattern. This initiative is to increase visibility, providing additional on-scene safety.

SVI Graphics is here to help! Our innovative 3M Diamond Grade Chevron Panels exceed the NFPA 1901 requirements, as well as the ASTM D 4956-04 Type IX specifications. But the real advantage is that they're extremely easy to install so you can do it yourself. No need to take your truck(s) out of service for an undetermined amount of time, while paying the expensive labor charges to have someone else do it for you.

Here at SVIG we take pride in our dedication to the emergency services. To help with the new NFPA regulations, we’re offering a specialized service designed to help you prepare for the upcoming changes. Below is a step-by-step process that is designed to get the process started.

Please Read Carefully:

Step 1
- With a digital camera, take pictures of the rear of each apparatus you are looking to have retro-fitted with chevron striping. Do your best to take the picture as square as possible.

Step 2 – Take a measurement. It can be of the entire rear end, or anything that will be easily viewable in the picture. This number is used to scale your pictures in our software up to actual size to ensure that the chevron panels will fit properly.

Step 3 – Go to www.svigraphics.com, and click on the “CONTACT” link, located under the “COMPANY” category. There you will find a simple fill-in-form where you will give us your basic contact information, upload the pictures that you took of your apparatus (max 3 pictures per submission), and type in the measurements of each truck in the comments area.

From there, we’ll gather your information and give you a call to verify that we’ve received your information and discuss any questions or ideas we may have after reviewing your requests.  Next, our designers will generate proofs using your pictures that will show you what the finished chevron striping will look like on each apparatus. This helps to visualize your chevron retro-fit project before any work is done.

Once you have had a chance to review the proofs that we created for you, SVI Graphics will generate an estimate for the project, and send it out for your approval.

Thank you again for your interest, and we look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

Mike Carlson

SVI Graphics' Chevron panels made from reflective, durable, micro prismatic 3M sheeting designed to be highly visible in all light and weather conditions. Manufactured from 3M products, these panels exceed the ASTM D 4956-04, Type IX, and the NFPA 1901 specifications.

As you can see, the Diamond Grade panels offer superior reflection, even compared to the highest quality 3M Scotchlite reflective vinyl. In fact, 3M Scotchlite reflective vinyl has around a 300 candle power luminescence, whereas the SVIG Diamond Grade exceeds 900 candle power!!!

Diamond Plate
Solutions

Got Diamond Plate?!?

We realize that a lot of apparatus out there have tread plate on either most, or all of the rear of the vehicle. This can be a challenge when deciding how and where to add chevron striping.

Here at SVI Graphics we've come up with a simple solution. The picture above shows SVIG diamond grade chevrons applied to a 2mm aluminum substrate, and then simply glued directly to the diamond plate.
(Some limitations exist)
